Fred is correct. Baby carrots are big carrots that have gone through a grinding machine, that grinds 90% of the carrot away, leaving you with what looks like a baby carrot.
You can however grow your own. You simply harvest the carrots when they are small. It's as simple as that. You don't need any special seed.

I have seen the machine in a fair
it really takes off a lot (I don't think it's %90 though)
gives you perfectly shaped baby carrots or round carrots

I'm not sure about the seeds.

ha ha. baby carrots? another name for the woody center of a carrot or piece of a carrot that is too damaged to sell whole.

If you grow your own carrots you can harvest them at whatever size you want. Different cultivars will mature at different sizes. If you pick them too young though they will be bitter.

Neither one. They are just normal carrots that has been cut down to that size. What a rip off.
