I got divorced and have 2 children. Can you afford an attorney? You can legally separate in order to get child support and alimony and then usually after one year of legal separation, your divorce is legal. Depending on what state your in, he will have to pay a certain percentage of his gross wages for child support and alimony. In your legal separation agreement, that would all be documented as well as any visitation schedule. Good Luck!!!

I got divorced after having my fifth child. I only worked part time during my marriage. I decided to go back to college. Depending on your state the possibilities are endless. Call your local Dept. of Health and Human Services Office (welfare office) to find out what your options are in your state.

as a child of a divorced couple, my advice would be to not get divorced. but you probably dont wanna hear that. i dunno, im 15 now, and i was 12 or 13 when it all happened, and they are STILL going through legal issues about "child support...who's gonna pay tuition for high school...who gets to see who and when and for how long...etc..."
to make a long story short, if you haven't given love a chance with your husband here, then give it a chance; do it for the kids. they need it more than you do.

MY EXPERIENCE: my ex didnt work until my daughter was 7yr. didnt get support until then. they didnt put him jail either. we never married.
so its ok to get a divorce even with kids.
call the welfare office or call your local child support division (maybe same number) ak at welfare office for that division. they can help.
