It feels something like a cat scratch, but for a prolonged period of time. It hurts more on bony areas than fleshy areas, and I've heard the worst places are the foot, along the spine, and on the breast plate. (I have one on my breast plate, my tattoo artist told me it was the worst place for her, it did hurt quite a bit). It hurts more at first, because your body's natural painkillers, endorphins, eventually kick in, and from there it's really smooth sailing.
Don't let the fear of the pain stop you from getting a tattoo, if you really want one and really love what you get it's worth the pain!

I have 8 tattoos & I am a girl. It really depends on where you get the tattoo. I got a tattoo on my lower back and that one hurt the most. I got tattoos on my arms and they don't hurt that bad either. It's really not what people say it is but it also depends on how well you can handle pain. The only real way to find out is to get one yourself.

Actually.... tattoos' feel no pain. You may try to embarrass it by saying something like "you suck" or " I like hair better". But generally speaking they neither feel pain nor hear what you have to say. I knew a guy once who burnt his tattoo. He ended up having more pain than the tattoo, which if you think about it,
it means that a tattoo is smarter than he is.

Every person is different. If you freak out and hurt after getting a shot, you might not want to get a tattoo.

depends on your pain tolerance level. if it's high, there won't be a whole lotta pain. if it's low...yes it will hurt a lot. i have four tattoos. where are you getting yours? that will tell me if it will hurt more or less too. also how big it is, if it's colored in, all of that info is needed so email me or IM me and i'll let you know, as i know what i'm talking about in this category! :)

It depends on the area you get it on! The more nerve endings the worse it will hurt. I have two and they where VERY different feeling!

Damn right it does. I had one pit on my arm when I was in the sercice at Ft. Bragg N.C.- I think it hurt like crazy, although I was drunk as a nine eyed snake, it still hurt.

yes, and just think how silly it will look when ur much older!! ppl never think that far ahead, i worked in a nursing home and saw some older ppl with tattoos, they looked horrible and all wrinkly!
