as a Scot, who wears the kilt a significant amount of time, I would say I have never really felt any colder in a kilt than when wearing trousers. Are kilts "warmer" though? Well yes they can be. Kilts are heavy wool. Heat is trapped under them and they do become very, very warm. So a good pair of woolen socks, and a lovely tartan kilt I would say can be much warmer than trousers. Hence the lack of underwear. Sssshhhhhhhh it's a secret... ha ha ha

guys i know that own kilts say yes they are , the type and amount of material they are made from doesnt let drafts in , unless of course they flashing lol like the true scotsmen they are , and dont hear a lot of women complaining of being cold when they wear skirts everyday ?

No, I was at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, opening ceremony and the Scottish team guys were freezing their **** off. They looked mighty fine though :)

No they are not, whether worn with underpants or not, but they are healthier, and not as smelly..
