I really like this girl, but everytime we are supposed to hang out or go to the movies she doesn't call me back. We are just friends right now and she does talk to me, shes just never available when we make plans. However, she has a very rough home life (divorced parents) and has had hard relationships which her last one ended with her bf (now her x) hitting her and leaving a bruise on her face. I dont know if shes not returning my calls because she is mean or if its just all of the crap she has going on in her life. I want to ask her whats going on, but i dont know how to ask. I'm pretty pissed but i dont want to upset her if it is other things distracting her. Thanks for your advice.

ok, i should have been more specific. She is not afraid of guys as she still talks to me and other guys. She is also convinced that it was her fault that she got hit (though that is bullshi.t she was smart enough to get out of the relationship). Also, this is the third time this has happened, and she seemed willing to hang out, so its not like i can just say "well, she made a mistake, i can let it slide this once". I just dont want to be angry if it is all the crap in her life distracting her and i just dont know how to approach her with my concern.

Wow...its cool that you care a lot and are empathetic. Well....I think you should calmly ask her what's going on...MAYBE..she doesn't trust guys completely .. not just to single you out, because of her 'ex' that abused her. So..maybe you should ask her what's up and offer help and then she'll think you're trustworthy...and you'll probab;y hang out more...Hope I helped ! : )

It is probably the situation that she is in and it is probably not the right time for her to have a relationship. Her parents relationship went down the crapper and she had an asshole of a boyfriend....just be her friend and don't push her into anything. Just be there for her and maybe she'll come around.

She may be scared of getting into another abusive relationship or maybe she has a lot of responsibilities at home. It could be anything. Just try to be her friend. Next time you talk to her let her know that you were really looking forward to spending time with her and would have appreciated a phone call if she needed to cancel.

with all that is going on in her life i can see how she might get distracted or even a little depressed,which may cause her to not want to go out,give her time,just ask her if she would like to talk about things,i am sure it would be a comfort to her if you loaned her your ear,also may answer some of your questions.good luck--
