Such a great question and so many talented players to choose from! Overall, though, I'd have to go with Chris Pronger in Edmonton.
He's a tower of power, having played almost 30 1/2 minutes in Game 6. He was gigantic against Rod Brind'Amour and Mark Recchi. He brings a shot blocking element which is huge but the big thing is his ability to dominate star players. He's managed, for the most part to stay out of the penalty box so he hasn't hurt his club in that regard. Plus, the booming shot he brings from the blue line and his size and strength in clearing the front of his own net so Markannen can see the puck. He has tremendous ability to move the puck which gives his club a good and quick transition game. He's poised on the blue line and hasn't taken penalties in any other series that proved to be harmful to the team. In the new NHL, Pronger has adapted and has continued to perform at a high level. That's why he gets my vote.

I have to go with Markkinen for the Oilers. The guy hadn't played since like March, and then gets pressed into service in, of all places, the STANLEY CUP FINALS. Talk about your trial by fire! I think he's one of the main reasons this one's tied 3 apiece, and if the Oilers come all the way back Monday night, he deserves the Con Smythe IMNSHO.

The Cup has been far off from domicile for plenty too long...Lord Stanley's Cup belongs in Canada and could restored to it rather is former glory whilst the Oilers convey it domicile....and this from a Habs fan...circulate Oliers circulate !!!!!

Well I would say Chris Pronger is the guy. He plays 30+ minutes a game and contributes offensively while being a rock defensively.

Ales Hemsky is the most skilled offensive player, but Rod Brind'Amour is probably the best overall player... this is his year to raise the Cup
