Nowadays, reedom seems to be the ultimate goal of the United Nations. The developed and developing world emphatizes people's right to think, say, believe, wear, sing, listen, read, and preach whatever they want without restrictions or consequences because we all deserve freedom. Yet this very same freedom allows people to consume themselves in evil without ever knowing it. People want the separation of the Church and state, and yet this separation just encourages divorces, unmeasured sex, and pride parades with dozens of naked or semi-naked men in the streets. Whereas before a man would have to woo a woman and wait until the wedding night to have sex, today elementary school childen are taught sex is okay with almost anyone as long as they're 16 years old and they wear a condom. Murder rate go up, more people report a growing unhappiness in their lives, and more children grow up without a father. Could all our freedom be killing us?

I guess I should define freedom. I am talking about the modern interpretation of freedom. The one all democratic countries are supposed to have, and the one the Capitalist world tried (and tries) to bring to the Communist, Fascist, and Islamic world. It is the freedom of speech, freedom of fate, freedom of thought, freedom of press, etc.

I know it sounds horrible, but wouldn't a monoreligious nation have less trouble. Dapixelator, you say Christians and Jews suffer in Islamic countries, but don't muslims suffer in Western countries as well. Just like what happened in Paris and Denmark when all the Muslims decided they had had enough sacrilegy of their religion from the government and decided to take the streets. Religion diversity didn't sound so fun then, did it? I believe people have the right to choose their religion, yet diverse countries have not resulted as well as expected. And sexual revolutions are not all I'm talking about, what I'm talking about is that in the average American family mommy is taking sleeping pills, daddy is cheating on her, little Suzie is pregnant aleready, and tommy is cutting himself because he feels misunderstood.

Freedom to learn and choose for yourself is a good thing. Misuse of freedom is killing us. Bad decisions and greed and selfishness are killing us. Valuing the wrong things is killing us. And narrow minded people who believe there's only one way and one truth and one belief system is definitely killing us. A little 'live and let live' is badly needed. A little tolerance, restraint, discretion and delayed gratification would solve many problems. But we're fed an incessant diet of marketing to persuade us we need bigger newer faster shinier. Stupidity and gullibility is killing us.

Could the dictators that prevent us from freedom be the only ones to enjoy freedom? Why does oppression mean spiritual happiness?

I believe that we are given the choice between good and bad. Suppression of freedom does not give us that choice. While corruption and evil are bad, the consequences of the suppression of freedom is much worse.

Free people also have the will to thrive for GOOD. Charity to others can become unmeasurable. Good people can work at a profession of their choice, and enjoy the fruits of their labor in a good way.

The human spirit of freedom is the only path toward solving the many problems of mankind. The 8 MDGs put forth to us by the nations of the world is our challenge. The United Nations is that body of nations of our planet, and through it, we have a commitment toward development.

These are the good causes. We have goals set, and the challenge is to make a difference my 2015. Let's use the positive aspects of mankind's spirit to make this happen. Entrepreneurship and free enterprise is the only way to make our planet grow.

Goal 1: Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
Goal 2: Achieve universal primary education
Goal 3: Promote gender equality and empower women
Goal 4: Reduce child mortality
Goal 5: Improve maternal health
Goal 6: Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
Goal 7: Ensure environmental sustainability
Goal 8: Develop a Global Partnership for Development

You should be concerned about how we can live together in peace and solve real problems, such as the MDGs provides to us.

Short answer-- Yes.
Do you honestly think that the sorts of things you mention did not happen in the past? Ok, a few things (like Gay pride parades) are relatively recent and many things regarding morality etc. have changed over the years.

The separation of Church and State does not foster more divorces, sex, etc. And, for that matter, what law said that people years ago could not have sex before marriage. Those are societal morals that have changed over the years.

Separation of Church and State is a key part of this country (USA). Our founders did not want a State established church. Neither do I and neither should you. Who is to decide WHICH church or religion the state pushes? Judaism? Islam? Christianity (and what form thereof), Budism? etc. So what happens to the people who are NOT of that state sponsored religion? Look at what happens in many Muslim countries. They are run by Islamic Law. You can be executed for any number of things (including things like converting from Islam to Christianity), women have to wear burqa's, etc. That's fine for them but I would not want to live in a country where the religious leaders run the country and cram their morals down my throat. We have enough of that here in the USA.

thats evolution and u cant have control on social changes!i bet government can hardly have any control on this and should not be blamed.u tried to emphasize mostly on sex related issues .divorces have known to exist from the time immemorial and that practice is alive today because of its effectiveness.in my opinion internet has opened the doors wide open and has triggered another sex revolution(and this is the begining).when people know that they are potential eneough to perform sex and its practises, who can stop them from go ahead .if u ban they would also become criminals apart from doing all thats mentioned above.evolution is like a chain reaction and goes on!what shape it takes is what we have to wait and see.there was sex revolution once before recently but it didnot thrive even for a decade. us human beings are known for instabilty and will lose interest in all this very soon.

i am going to understand your opinion in this problem because both are historic activities that got here about in this usa and both must be addressed right now.. yet same to the African individuals felt that going to there senators to positioned this problem to congress then it truly is probable what you need to do to. there have been a good number of adult males that died combating for an same liberties that we've in the present day and that i too imagine that that is in undemanding words honest that the authorities pay off all of thoughs infantrymen both black and white besides because the slaves that suffered a lot reparations. This usa owes it to all of those who've lost there lives and African individuals (even if you settle with me or no longer) might want to get decrease back reparations for all the issue and discomfort that became suffered in there time of slavery. And to all the civil conflict patriots there should be some thing given to them via the indisputable fact that is in undemanding words honest and that i believe that very a lot. Like I suggested I trust each thing you assert no longer because i'm an African American yet because we are a rustic of liberties and guidelines and those self same those that fought both black and white some thing ought to receive decrease back to them, besides as thoughs who suffered throughout the time of slavery. that is in undemanding words honest!

I guess if you are religous fundamentalist the answer would be no and it wouldn't bother you becasue you have been taught to fear and loathe the things around you that didn't fit into your narrow scope of reality.
However, if you are a true child of God you take the one gift given to humans and not to His beloved angels very seriously. The gift of free will. Without free will we are simply mindless robots worshipping at the alter of God and it means nothing to Him and even less to us.
I stand for freedom. Freedom to make mistakes, freedom to shout "RIGHT ON SISTER" to my lesbian friends, freedom to allow the 14 year old girl to abort the baby her father gave her when he raped her, the freedom to say ENOUGH to my government and the freedom to make my own life choices.

I would die for your right to have a narrow mind.

Define freedom, by my definition we had infinitely more a million/thousand/hundred/ten years ago in some respects and infinitely less in others.
There are far worse things to die from and for.
