I think there are too many bigots

I have noticed on this site and throughout society as a whole a tendency for labeling anyone who has the temerity to disagree with what is PC at the moment as a bigot, racist, homophobes, take your pick of buzz words. Just because an opinion is not popular or currently in vogue does not make it evil or wrong.

I think the main reason why is that people are squeamish about reporting abuse. Racial slurs are a violation of the Community Guidelines, and should be reported immediately. But the Yahoo! Answers team can't do it all by themselves. If they tried to review every question as it came in, they'd need an army of censors. So they rely on responding to reports of abuse from the users.

Racism, like other violations of the guidelines, could ruin this marvelous opportunity for communication that we have here in front of us. If too many people sign on, see a bunch of garbage posted by "trolls," and go away, never to come back, we will lose this chance to make a difference in human communication.

Think of it: you can ask a question of the whole world, and get answers from ordinary (and extraordinary) English-speaking people from everywhere. What an opportunity to improve understanding! What a way to make friends! What a temptation for those who don't like the idea of people expanding their circle of friends, lest they feel more left out than they do already.

Remember South Pacific: "You've got to be taught before it's too late, before you are six or seven or eight, to hate all the people your relatives hate. You've got to be carefully taught." The reason they had to be "carefully taught" is that kids normally love to reach out, they are curious and gregarious, and might end up recognizing that their relatives are living in a narrow, nasty rut that they don't want to live in.

Most of these racists bastards on here are just asking questions out of boredom. Funny thing is that I really don't believe that they are racist or as hateful as they say they r! Mommy and daddy don't give them enough attention at home so what do they do? They get on the computer, with its endless possibilities, taking advantage of the fact that they can hide behind an avatar and a screen name! Do u realize how easy it is to pretend on here to replace the fact that little Cletus' brother would rather play with his a laptop computer or go to the public library to post bs questions then to have a real life? These so called racists on here can say all that they like hidden behind a screen but when it comes down to reality, and as they stand face to face with the ppl that they disrespect...its going to come down to some fear on their parts! to all these lonely f u c k e r s on here that claim the hate: INTERNET DOESNT MEAN S Hi T !

Not nearly enough racists here if you ask me. Racism is Nature's way of protecting a species and keeping it pure. Too many people today have fallen for the Marxist lie that the races are equal. Funny how a little propaganda can cause some dim-witted folks to totally ignore what their eyes, ears and noses tell them. And it's interesting to note that if mixing of the races is so natural, then why do laws have to exist to enforce it?

Yahoo answers is a medium that reaches many people. On the average, the more vocal a person is, the more maliciously truth-disrupting they are, because simple truths are obvious, whereas the corresponding lies (such as libel) are not. It's NOT just racists; ALL truth-disruptors are more likely to be highly vocal. Just look at the response by sentrasersr20d above, who libelled people that believe evolution as being racists.

Insecurity makes a person try harder to make their point that has no basis in reality or in rational minds. Intolerance of any kind breeds more intolerance. Weaker people trying to be superior or to exercise some false power or to tear down what looks better to them is often at the basis. A 'superiority/inferiority complex' is the problem, whereas the person should be working on improving themselves or even learning from those they are trying to discredit irrationally. Not to compare is wiser still.

Because Yahoo takes too long to kick them off...I think they're especially prolific, or create lots of accounts, or both, which is why there seems like a lot of them. Or there's just a lot of them. I've gotten some racist answers too; good luck dealing with them.

I agree with you. I just think they have no balls to say it to people's faces so they must hide behind their computer to say this, plus there's a feeling in this country to attack those who are not like us so the followers must jump on the ban wagon and just attack without having any reason to. I just hope there's more of us that want peace than there are those who hate

The problem is that people that hate other cultures don't realize we are one race. We all descended from Adam & Eve so we are all related. Evolution teaches racism, because it teaches that people of darker color are more closely related to apes. Hitler used evolution teachings to promote the extermination of Jews.
