is it difficult on father's day if your dad was or is a deadbeat?

Same, my dad wasnt there for me and havent seen a dime from him, and no i dont celebrate it for him, they dont deserve it, be a better father then he was . Good luck and god bless. Be strong, i know its tough to see perfect fathers and then reflect on yours.
I love my mom soooo much , she took my dads role too.

I celebrate it. My husband is a good Dad to our boys.

My father...I still call him to say Happy Father's Day and tell him all the great things about my husband and what a great dad he is. It's like I'm rubbing it in that he has no actual memories of 'being a dad'. That kinda makes us even for all the sh!t he caused me, and he will be getting a call every year just like today.

well my fathers not a dead beat but either its very hard or it should even cross your mind my moms wasnt around and i dont even think about her I get my step mom something but as far as my real mom goes she can kick rocks 20 years and MAYBE 3 calls for my birthday and 20 total when i was at the same house with the same phone number dosnt give me a reason to feel sorry about a dam thing

no dont celebrate a deadbeat dad. celebrate your mom who is doing a tough job...raising a child on her own.....go give her a hug and a kiss and tell her that you love her
