Unfortunately yes. If for no other reason than his uncanny preserverance. He has survived and led his country, though there have been many attempts on his life. He has kept alive communism in his country.
One can only hope that once he is out of power, Cuba can gain enough freedom to replace him with someone that has human rights as a main issue.

Never, he's neer done anything influential in his life. He's purely forced his will, other than that he's accomplished nothing. The man is a crackhead and so is his brother. If he were influencial, people wouldn't be risking thier lives trying to cross into the US as much as they have in Florida. He and his brother speak of thier comunist government as being the will of the people.....hardly the truth, it's the will of the dictator Castro's mrerely to stay in a position of wealth and power. (and there ain't much wealth to em)
