Is it a Dell? If it is and it was purchased after 7/15/05 then it comes with a one time only (unless you copy it first) pc restore that returns it to the way it was when purchased, you will lose everything else you have installed.
Turn off the pc and upon restarting hold the CTL button, then hit the F11 key once, follow the prompts.

Restore

Start
Programs
Accessories
System Tools
System Restore,,, follow the prompts

To do a System Restore, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore. If that doesn't work, you'll probably need to format your hard drive and reinstall Windows.

Your computer should have come with a restore CD. Place it in the CD drive of the computer and boot it up. It should boot from the CD and prompt you to reinstall the original software.
