I would leave my job because with all that money it would be wrong to keep hold of a job that someone with no money or unemployed could do. To keep me busy, l would use the money to open up a restaurant and create jobs, especially in my area where there aren't many employment opportunities - or decent restaurants!. A syndicate won quite a few million, l think about 10 employees got about £500'000 each at a local supermarket. But they haven't left their jobs because they feel the company have been good to them and have worked there for donkeys years. The 10 jobs could go to the unemployed people who are desperate for work and trying to live on the dole. Why can't these people help in charity shops, work in animal shelters or open their own business to keep busy?. They may love working on the check-outs - but there are other people that are jobless, it's ridiculous!. So yes, l'd carry on working, but either voluntary or through my own business - after a very long holiday around the world of course!.

Oh heeeeellll yes. I'm already retired, but I would definitely enjoy it more. Travel more, visit family and friends. Buy a house, or maybe two. Buy a decent car. Board the cats and take off with the Pomeranian. Buy the iPod and cell phone I've been putting off for years. And go on Jenny Craig or NutriSystem to finally lose the weight. See? I've already got it spent. lol

I would not retire, I love my job. I actually work with a lady that did win 13 million before taxes 3 years ago and she is still there part time.
I too would probably go part time and travel with my 3 sons for awhile.

No. I wouldn't retire. I'd probably work less harder by taking a part time job. Or put up small business to make myself productive. If billionaires like Bill Gates don't have to work but they still do then that means I shouldn't be so comfortable with my $2 million.

Nope, I'd invest half in long term IRA's and use the other half to start my own business. Make sure it is something you would completely enjoy. Maybe something like a turn-key operation. I have always wanted to move to the Bahamas or Hawaii and start a para-sailing business. The insurance is affordable and what could be better than people to pay you to cruise your boat up and down the shores of a tropical paradise. Tourists pay huge dollars. The certifications are easy to obtain also.

Not enough to retire on. I figure investing it at about 6% (conservative rate) would throw off about $120k annually. However, that's fixed and would not grow. Since I currently make more than that, I'd probably work for 3-4 more years to build it up before retiring.

I might continue working as I run a small business, but that would allow me to hire some people so that I had more spare time to travel... Id go by a big ole house with a pool, new car an audi TT! I would also give a lot away to family and friends and some charities i support!

No, I wouldn't retire but I would be less stressed about where my money is coming from. I would continue with college, pay off all my bills and open me a hair salon. And Help my family buy a house. Also I would donate to a few charities.

Invested wisely you could live off $2Mil for the rest of your life if your standard of living wasn't too high.

I probably wouldn't retire, but I sure wouldn't feel as tied to my job as I do now. I might explore the possibility of going to work for a charitable organization at a significantly lower rate of pay than I get now (I suspect I'd still have to work some even earning 5%/year off $2Mil).

I think if I really retired, though, I'd be pretty bored pretty fast.
