Whatever the reason, it's false The usa has distorted view of socialism, they are staunch supporters of capitalism They loathe communism to the point of paranoia.But they're not afraid of cuba or anyone else

We aren't afraid of Cuba, but we USED to be afraid of communism. Cuba is one of the last (if not the only one) remaining communist governments in the world. Our plan is to embargo them to death to kill the last bit of it. Towards the end of the Cold War, in which Cuba was an active participant against the US, they had missiles pointed at the US. It came close to getting really ugly. In 1996 they shot down two private US planes. Plus, Fidel Castro is a dictator and a nutjob, and we just.. don't really like him all that much, and we can be like that because we're bigger. So there.

i don't think the US is afraid of cuba. Good 'ol feeble Fidel is just a nuisance nowadays more than anything, why give much attention to a senile senior citizen?

The US has no fear of Cuba. The US feels that Cubans should be allowed to freely choose their government. Fidel doesn't allow this.

US is not afraid, but they must respect their country, as they are tied into communist russia, and do not want to have a conflict with them in the world. So they just contain them.
