Well, that all depends on the lizard. Most wont grow back, like the iguana, skink, anole, etc. The few that does grow back, such as most geckos, really depends on the health, and breed of the lizard. If they are well fed on vitamins (especially calcium) and the temp and humidity levels are correct, it can grow as quickly as a month, but on the other hand, if they are under the conditions they need, even the reptiles that can grow their tail back, might not. It really isn't an easy question to answer, because their are so many different conclusions. The reason the tails fall off in the first place is as a defense. When attacked, it's usually from behind, so they release the tail, with little or, sometimes, no pain, and like I said, depending on the reptile and conditions, in may grow back..

As far as I know, a lizard's tail won't grow back. It will make a stub, but never grow back even close to its original length. Some lizards can detach from their tails if a predator has grasped the tail. But the tail will only grow a stub.

The only animal I know that can grow back a lost limb is a star fish. And I think certain salamanders might be able to grow back a leg, though not like the original one.

It takes up to 4 months for it to grow back to full length, but it is discolored and loses some of its function every time it gets removed and has to grow back. Maybe that is why we don't have people growing their limbs back, because even nature can't make it come back exactly the same way

4 or 5 months depending on the species and the severity of the wound. Sceintist have actually started to study this and have really come up with some surprizing things. They have also made breakthroughs with the study of the pads on climbing geckos feet. Hurt pads regenerate fastest of all animals. Lots of hormones and DNA stucture being aplied.

It depends, there are only a few species who can actually regrow a tail... a few species of salamanders and some anoles. As far as humans, I have no idea.
