That's way too much of an advantage to the defense! Why not put weights on the runners' legs while they're at it!

Yeah because how do you have a chance against the throw unless you start earlier than that?

If you ever tried it the other way, you'd quickly see that it would take a superstar catcher and a slow runner for anyone to ever be thrown out stealing. It's just too short of a run and the ball has to travel too far (45 ft pitch + 85 ft throw from catcher).

NO, It LITTLE League, not Major League. The average Pro catcher only throws out 20% of the runners, so Little League is no better.

Actually, this evens out the game, since all the runners have to do is run 60 ft and the catcher has to throw 90ft, it keeps runners from stealing all day since there are no pickoffs

if you watch a little league game, the throw to second will cause an error, then the runner will go to third and there will be another throwing error, and the runner will go home and the game will keep going like that forever!!! they need some limitations to speed up the game

i played 12u softball and that was the rule for us. most catchers cant throw all the way to second (or third) fast enough and hard enough to get the runner out if they left at the pitch or atleast not in little league.

That is not the rule. The rule is a player cannot attempt a steal until the ball crosses the plate. I
