I got a teddy bear hamster from Sweet Feed Company in December 2005 & he coast me $8 but diffent pet stores have different prices. The most I ever seen any hamster coast is about $10

I think you might want to consider getting a Teddy Bear Guinea Pig the size of a hamster. They are much easier to care for, they don't get lost and are much more loving. I have had both and I think the G. pigs are much nicer, especially the males. Plus they don't sleep all day and play all night like the hamsters do. If you get one, I can give you some hints on what they like to eat. Give it a lot of thought before you do this.
