Probably the song "Gloomy Sunday", the notorious suicide song, written in Hungary in 1933. At least 17 suicides were directly attributed to the song in Hungary, and another 10 or so in Germany. Rezso Seress and Laszlo Javor wrote it. It was recorded in English by Billie Holiday (Lady Day) back in the 30s, but the English lyrics are said to be but a pale reflection of the Hungarian.

Seress committed suicide in 1968.

Awesome question dude!
First one was Against all odds, aftyer a break -up but got over it!

Next, and still makes me cry, is "Wind beneath my Wings" Bette Midlers version!

But now I am a married Dad, it hits me everytime - " I'm already there" by Lonestar, they are little known in the UK but big in the states! I defy anyone to listen to "i'm already there" without feeling a little sad....Dads beware!!!!!!!

Man, tears in heaven is a sad one, different kinda love though.
Joeline By Dolly Parton is great, but..

Oh, me shed a tear? well I always cry to "Kona Moon" by the band O Hanna Hui (I think)-its hawaiian music, but they sing in harmo and its beautiful. i cry 'cuz i was playing the record once and mom walked in, started singing then broke down crying ;cuz it was her and my dad's song...i did not realize how much mom still loved him (they seperated as he was not in a healthy mental state). Shoot, im gonna cry again.

"Brown Eyes Blue" by Crystal Gail. It's such an immensly beautiful song.

Also "Walk on By" by Dionne Warwick. So haunting!

The Casino's, Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye. I grew up listening to my brother play music and sing and due to his health he cant anymore, but everytime I hear that song in my mind I hear him singing it and it makes me cry.
