iTunes
1) under "iTunes" menu, select "Preferences", select "Advanced" and set the type of format you want for the songs;
2) In your Library, highlight the songs you want to change
---FYI) you can sort songs by format/file type by going to "Edit" and "View Options" and checking "Kind"; then click on the "Kind" column header in the Library to sort;
3) under the "Advanced" menu, select "Convert to ___" (it should specify the format you've selected).
That's it!! Pretty simple, and no additional software to download.

Go to www.macupdate.com and search if iTunes is not enough for you.
