Some geckos, among other lizzards are afraid of being held. Many do overcome their fear with time. Dont be pushy and grab at him often. Let him/her know that u mean no harm. Grabbing and squeezing only make them more edgy, and some get squirmy and resist all holdings. Mainly, give it time, it will eventually start to trust you, but become "friends" with it when its younger..older ones seem to stand to what they grew up on...Good luck..

crocodile geckos being their nature and the fact that it was probally wild caught may be a hard number to tame. These geckos are not on the real tame list. Kinda like a tokay gecko they remain mean and skittish. They don't like to be handled alot. If you want a handleable gecko try a Leopard Gecko.

As with any animal you have to give it a few months to get used to you and trust you then you can slowly work up to touching it. If the gecko is freaking out do not touch it. It will never trust you if you scare it by being too pushy. Give it time. Kindness and Gentleness will get you what you want in time.

Go slow with the gecko. Learn more about them. Habitat, diet, and how to keep them healthy. Perhaps you could check the pet store for a book, or your library.

patience, my dear, patience, if u "just bought it" it will need time just to get accustomed to the new place, even without some huge ugly monster trying to grab him every now and then! this way he will grow even more jumpy! especially if he is quite young. Instead try feeding him from your hand . that way he will have some incentive to get close to your hand and to find it harmless and associated with good things. then you will be able to be gently bitten in your finger or u may stroke his throat and to let him walk into your hand - always take him.from under his belly but never grab him from above

Gecko's love to bite and not let go...if it is large, forget it. They will never 'get used' to you. Use gloves.
