Forgive me if I sound strange but as a man who's been married for 17 years I find my wife more beautiful w/o makeup. Dressing up has its time, but then that goes for both sexes. I think if someone says they don't want to look at you w/o makeup then you should laugh and thank your stars because they've saved you a lot of trouble by showing just how shallow they are before you found out the hard way.

I understand that you wanted men to answer this question but, I as a woman had to answer it. I do not wear make up or dress half naked. Yes I am married and my opinion is if a guy (or anyone for that matter) does not like me for who I am and they only like me for what I look like then they are the shallow ones and I don't need them in my life at all. I agree with some of the answers on here that the media has portrayed this in people's minds. I am not one of them. There are women out there that don't get half naked and all "made up" for guys to notice them. I do however color my hair because I want to for me not for other people.

I do disagree with the guy who said about hairy legs and underarms. That would be more personal hygiene and that was not the way that I perceived this question.

I am sure that the person asking this question did not mean the question in that way. (of course I might be wrong)

I personally believe that make up is a waste of my time and money.

Don't blame me! I wish they WOULDN'T put all this useless gunk on themselves!

Women are believing the lies from the advertisers & society that they have to be perfect, which includes their appearance. What I don't understand is why they keep accepting it as truth. They buy the Vogue magazines by the millions, cosmetics by the billions, and keep backstabbing each other about their clothes and hairdos.

So why are you asking men this question? It should be asked to the women!

That is your hangup. that is the worst generalization I have ever heard! Blame your God awful Vogue and Elle magazines for your insecurity. Young women idolize Paris Hilton not young boys , get a clue. I have met a lot of women at the gym, obviously looking there sweaty worst. This is your problem, do not project your insecurity on others.

Oh! cute Woman, You are not right in saying so.

In fact I admire a Woman in her natural God given beautiful outlook, & to those who are 'all made up', one but calls 'Painted Lillies'.

Take a leaf out of Mother nature, spare a time a while, to stand & stare at it, & realise how beautiful it is in her natural outlook.

Warm & Fond Regards.

Because to see a girl going around with frizzy greasy unbrushed hair and blemishes on her face and a unibrow and bushy eyebrows, with hairy legs and hairy armpits just isn't a pretty sight is it?
