Yes,Get on there yahoo name and click on messenger up at the top scroll down to privacy options and a thing will pop up.On the right side click on archive and at the top it will say view archive. It will have the things that they have typed back and forth. They may have set it so it will not do that but if so you set it so it will :-)

Yes, unless your kid is aware of it and erases them, yahoo messenger keeps archives by default. You can click on contacts at the top, then click message archives. But you can also install Spyware on their computer and you will see absolutely everything they do on the internet. However, their computer will warn them that they might have a spying software on.

There is an option to save your chats, which is on by default.
I know this as I got in trouble with my girl for it once.
Anyway.
You need to find the location of these text files, usually in My Documents, if you're XP I would imagine you have different accounts for different people, look in their My Documents folder first. If not go to
Go to my computer, programs, messenger.
Or do a search
files and doc only, it's saved as dates, so search for txt files of the date you know your kid used it last.
Good luck

You have to have the message history checked off (save all messages) under the preferences menu under your yahoo id. So you would have to make sure that this is done and that you know their sign in name and password (I know my kids ones).
Otherwise- it will erase messages as they sign out. No history will be kept.

Install Trillian for them - it hooks into Yahoo IM and has a history file you can access.

there are programs out there that do that, but i don't want to go telling what spy software to use. i dislike the idea of internet spying; i mean, you wouldn't want them (or anyone else) spying on you, after all.
