The first that come to mind are 'The Breakfast Club' (angst filled high-school teens doing the soul-searching/sharing thing during weekend detention) and 'Saint Elmo's Fire' (coming of age story where former school chums help each other wallow through their emotions). If you want really sweet, cute and fluffy (like cotton candy) go for 'Sixteen Candles' (great soundtrack!). For angst, wallowing and some outlandish Cali-rich kid partying, you can't beat 'LessThan Zero' (the Bangles do a killer version of 'Hazy Shade of Winter').
