If it is the song I am thinking of it is Tupac and Dr. Dre. It's one of the greatest hip hop songs ever. It's an awesome song to groove to. California Love is the name of the song, it was on originally a single when "Pac" got out of jail, around 1995. He and Dre did the Remix, and, the "Califfffooorrrnnniiiaaa" effect comes from R&B/ funk legend Roger (Troutman). If I am not mistaken either Roger, or, his brother Zapp(?) passed away within the last few years. Anyway.....Rolling Stone ranked the song at number 346 of the top 500 songs of all time. That's just how good the song was, and, still is. Oh yeah, if u can't find the single, pick up Tupac's cd, "All Eyez on me", it's great. THe entire (double) cd is.
