Parasite as in malware? Try downloading AdAware and running it.

Parasite as in trojan? Try AVG Antivirus free version.

Parasite as in someone piggy-backing on your network? Enable WEP.

It depends on what you have. If you know the name of the parasite, try googling it. If normal anti-virus and anti-spyware/adware can't remove it, and the parasite recently infected your computer, you can try doing a system restore.

If none of that works, you'll most likely end up wiping the hard drive clean and reinstalling your whole operating system, or paying someone else to do it.

If you know its' name you can us use a search engine to search for a manual method of removing it. If not or if you want to do it the easiest way use a anti-virus program. The one I use is Avast and it is easy to use. It will also keep you from getting more. It is free for private non commercial use. Check it out at www.avast.com

It is usually better to let a program do it for you, otherwise you will be dulging into the depths of your system registry, and most likely your windows system files.. You can VERY easily do alot of damage in those to areas, you can google an online virus scan from the likes of computer associates, mcaffe, norton. etc... use a trusted name though

I think you're gonna need to download some anti-virus software. Symantec is a good software program. Spybot Search and Destroy is a free program. Go and google it to download it

you definitely need software (firewall keeps them out, antivirus removes viruses already there, and spyware is removed, though i'm not sure if that's by the antivirus program or if you need a separate one)
