If you disable McAfee, then you computer will be suspectible to viruses. That would be a really stupid idea.

But use RUN from your Start menu, and type MSCONFIG. Go to the startup section and UNCHECK anything EXCEPT the McAfee programs.

Then run Ad-aware and SpyBot Search & Destroy and really clean things up.

By the way, why the heck are you restarting your computer all the time. Once a day should do the trick. If you are using a notebook, it should be connected to it's power plug. You might also use SUSPEND mode.

The anti virus software is supposed to do just as you described. If you delete it, your computer will most likely get a virus. It only takes about a minute of time to run a check at start up. That's a lot better than spending hours chasing down a virus.

If you are a current MacAfee subscriber, click on the MacAfee icon and open Security Center. Upper right had side click on Support, and when the page opens, click on Technical Support.

I am sorry, I just had to tell you-
you already have a virus in your computer.
Could be more than one. They can kill
your whole entire program.
I am surprised you have not noticed that yourself.
If you look at your spelling and grammar you would know.
or your keyboard is real sticky!
The cure for that - use spell check or some other means of
creating proper sentences.

Jus "un"click the little button that says "run at start up". You can run your friggin virus check anytime....it doesn't have to be at start up, so.... if you turn your computer off....how are you receiving your automatic updates? Something you might want to think about

First off all - you should use spell check and ask your mom to type your questions for you. Second - go to www.download.com and get AdAware, Spybot - Search & Destroy, and a free trial of Trojan Buster. McAfee is worthless.

go to start then to RUN.......type in msconfig.......go to start up.......then uncheck all of the things you dont want starting when you turn on computer. then push apply and thats it......a message will come up about your change in settings. By closing some of the start up programs.....your computer will boot up in less time and go faster. Try it ....
