They hibernate.
For more bat information get in touch with Dr. Brock Fenton at the University of Toronto. Bats are his specialty, and the subject of his research. And he is a super friendly chap who likes to talk about bats and to inform people. Your question is not stupid. And bats are great creatures they love mosquitoes
