I need help finding plans for mounting a gas weed-eater engine to a bicycle. Something for the rear of the bicycle. I have had no luck finding free or cheap plans to build a simple device. Not interested in buying an already built model. Be more fun to build my own.

Anyone know a good website for plans or place to order decent and cheap plans?

It's a 2-stroke, and since I don't see any sort of injector system in that pile you'll be mixing your gas. Pretty cool little set-up they've got there, especially for $160. It's a good thing you'll be getting 150mpg as that tank is itsy bitsy teensy weensy!

Don't know where you should look, but I know from past experiences that it's been done, using a host of drive mechanisms from friction drive to chain or belt drive. I saw a lot of homemade rigs when I was a kid, and the predecessor of the motorcycle were motor-assisted bicycles.

go to a local machine shop and talk to them about what kind of gearing mechanism they think you'd need and the right person may dig something out of their junk drawer or think you are a smart fellow and give you some ideas, and if not ask them where you may look. start close to home, you'll have better luck that way....besides then you can ride it over there and show them when it's done:) hey it's worth a try....
