for the people who dont't knw the facts:
1- it doesn't hurt, they numb it
2- u can eat hot things etc
3- it heals quickly
4- It doesn't affect your hygene
5- I'm not a whore. i'm 19 only had 3 bfs b4. I'm still with my 3rd one. and I'm a virgin.
Personally I wouldn't automatically think that a person with a tongue ring is a whore. Its an expression of their style or it's something they wanted. But obviously I have an open mind and not judgemental.

my tounge is pierced and I love it it is like getting your ears pierced right it's just cool u got it done because u wanted to right. and it's not always seen you can talk so you don't open your mouth so wide so no one will see if you don't want them to. it's just an assecorie. 10 years from now it will be old news and the people that freak out and diss it now won't they will find something new to gripe about. So love it girl. Don't you love the different color balls and styles you can get? LOL

My only question is how long you can leave the stud out of it before it closes up. If you take a job where such a thing would be a detriment, can you keep the hole open by wearing it only in the evenings and week-ends?
Just because I'm a wimp and would never do such a thing myself does not mean I disapprove or even feel grossed out when I talk to someone who is wearing a stud on her tongue. But I must admit that it takes some getting used to. The first time I saw such a thing, I was certain the person was some sort of masochistic pervert. It took me awhile to discover that it was becoming common.

I'm a person who is afraid of needles in general. I jumped when I got my ears pierced. People do whatever they want, but I think it's kind of gross. The idea of exchanging saliva with someone who has a tongue ring to me is unclean. That person can kiss someone and then turn around and kiss someone else and it continues. Metal, saliva and whatever lingering in their mouth becomes a part of my mouth to me just doesn't sound very sexy.
Just do me a favor, please keep it clean, use mouthwash or whatever is needed to keep the infections down! Sorry!

I'm a woman, I have my tongue pierced and I love it!!! Of course EVERYTHING thinks I got it because I like to give "head" ....that's not why I got it...I got it cause I wanted it...that fact that I like to give oral sex has nothing to do with my tongue ring. I've been told it feels better with the tongue ring than without....
But anyway I love my tongue ring, I think it's great.

My sister and me both have our done. For people that's worried about ""professional"" jobs they have things that goes in where your piercing is that way no one can see it. We get our's done just because we wanted them done not for sex reasons. I only had pain for the healing process. If everyone had a open mind about it maybe it would be more accepted.. Just like tattoos.....

Heh...I asked a question about tongue rings the other day and I got ALOT of negative responses. Seems alot of guys and girls think that they are "trashy" and "slutty" on women. I personally like them and want to get my tongue pierced again. However society doesn't accept it and I don't have the desire to tell everyone who hates it to go f*ck themselves, so I probably won't get it re-done. However, I know of alot of people who have one and you can't even tell. They're the ones who know how to keep it in their mouths. But some people get it done to flaunt it and show it off and that turns alot of people off.

well im a guy, and i decided to do it myself. it all depends on what and individual thinks of tongue piercings. theres no set in concrete feeling towards them thats the same for everybody. personally, i think its really hot seeing a girl with a tongue piercing, and the reason i got one is because most women i know like them on a guy, and they're just fun to play around with.

I think it is stupid, but I don't think anything about the people, except they waste money.
They could have issues getting a job in some public service (sales) jobs since there is a stigma on public reaction.

I personally think they can be cool looking. Not like huge ones, though. I also like nose piercings, like just a little dot or something.
