I have full reception and its a black motorola V3C from cingular

Definitely called failed... Try move to another area you know you've had great reception and try it there... If not call cingular 888-Cingular

Turn the phone off and then on again It might have not refreshed the network it was on If that happens often, might be the phone is damaged
