Did I mention....
-You have to live a lie in the military
- You get compared to the five gay characters on television
- You lose friends over coming out
- People use it as a scapegoat to gain the upperhand on you by saying you're not a moral person.

You do choose who you go to bed with, but why would you choose to go to bed with someone you didn't have the slightest attraction to.
In this sense the moral choice is in direct contrast to the way we were created. I don't choose to believe god messed up. I think we messed the rules (morals) up.

The gay rights movement of the seventies did not tote the idea of sexuality as a choice. This idea was introduced by the moral majority of the 80's complements of Falwell.

The reason why many people believe that homosexuality is a choice is because they don't know what it is. I have yet to come across someone who knows what homosexuality is and still thinks that homosexuals choose their sexual orientation.

In their minds, "homosexuality" describes an action, and "homosexual" is an adjective. As far as they're concerned, homosexuality (as a psychosexual orientation) doesn't actually exist.

So, despite all your well developed points, Yes, people will continue to think that homosexuality is a choice because they think that homosexuality means having sex with people of your same gender, even though it means that you are only attracted to them.

Im don't even have to read this to know that homosexuality is not a choice. Its rediculous to me that there are actually people out there that think being gay is a choice. Some people lose their families over their sexual orientation. Its not an RSVP to a fun party! The only choice that is made by a gay person is the very dicult choice of comming out and knowing that they have to deal with ignorance for the rest of their lives. Its a really brave thing to do and its a shame that being yourself has been made into such a hard choice to make.

Your sexual orientation may not be a choice, but your behavior certainly is.

And what is this about "false rumors" connecting AIDS to homosexuality? You think that AIDS and homosexuality have nothing to do with each other?

If so, then you must be on acid, no offense.

Besides, the average life span of a gay man in America is 39 if he dies of AIDS, and 41 if he dies of something else.

Not much of a difference there.

This means that gay men are far more likely to contract certain deadly disease -- hepatitis, anal cancer, HPV, and so on.

Medically speaking, you're safer being a pack-a-day smoker than being an actively gay man.

Yes, you are wrong. Homosexuality is a choise. Scientifically speaking, it is a chioce. You will not find a gay animal in the animal kingdom, ever. Sure, some males hump other males, but that is only to show dominance, "animal wanking" as my friend once so gracefully called it. Humans are the only ones who do it. And we are capable of "logic", unlike other animals. Homosexuality is a choice.

I am not bias, I do not belive there is anything wrong with Homosexuality, heterosexuality, bisexuality, metrosexuality or anything else.

Yeah, well the gay rights movement really shot themselves in the foot with that one. Back in the '70s, it was all about personal freedom, so they floated the argument that they were just being as free as heterosexuals. It backfired, causing more misunderstanding than anything else. But don't blame anti-gay forces for the "choice" language; it started in the homosexual camp.

Being gay or straight was never an issue for me...

I have always been more attracted to males than females, this is a physical attraction. Women just don't seem to interest me, I find them rather boring. If this is a choice or not, I don't really care.

Andrew, I agree with you totally. I KNOW this wasn't a choice for me...Yes, I'm a lesbian....The facts that you pointed out are all valid reasons as to why TRUE gays didn't choose to be the way we are...Who would CHOOSE this and have to deal with all of those issues...HOWEVER, there are lots of people who CHOOSE to engance in homosexual acts and those are the people who make a lot of straight people feel that we ALL choose to be like this and that's just simply not true...I feel a lot of bisexual people choose to be bi. Most of them just want the physical aspect of homosexuality and that's just not right...Anyway, Andrew...It really matters not what facts you put out there and how much sense you make...The ones who already have their minds made up to give us a hard time are gonna do just that...Live your life the way you please and remember you don't have to justify your lifestyle to these people who are NOT paying your bills, putting food on your table or clothes on your back!....hold your head up and "FORGEDABOUDDIT!!!

Being gay IS NOT a choice. I prayed and prayed to God to make me straight but I learned that I had to love me and we are all created in Gods image so how can being gay be so wrong? Just because people are closed minded doesn't mean something is wrong.

I agree...the whole thing is stupid...I have a gay friend who contemplated his own suicide soley because of the fact that he WAS gay, not because he "chose" to be gay...There's no choice to be gay...I was naive enough to ask my friend that and he asked me if I chose to be straight...He also asked me that if the tables were turned and society told me to be gay could I do it...the answer is no...if it was wrong to be straight...I couldn't change who I was...something all of us should think about...to say homosexuality is a choice is ignorant...my friend has since come to grips with who he is and I think the primitive people who aren't open-minded enough to accept the differences of other people are dumb!

homosexuality is not a choice.

the only choice that a gay/les/bi makes is whether or not to be true to themselves.

ps-
"- Listen to a pleathora of false rumors connecting AIDS to homosexuality."

aids (and many other STDs) came about from anal sex, and therefore gay men are more succeptable to contract aids.
