Depending on how much you want to spend you could never get them again. Cold sores are basically herpes, except in a different location. I know, disgusting! But if you get a prescription of Valtrx, herpes medication, and take 1 a day you will probably not get them anymore. The bad thing is, is that 1 month supply can cost you anywhere from $180-$300 depending on where you get it, unless you have insurance.

I just found the only thing that has ever worked for me with cold sores. I've had some really bad ones. At a doctor visit for something else, the doctor prescribed something that could stop a cold sore right at the start, but you have to take it the minute you feel the tingling. It is called acyclovir, and it's working great. It stops it before it starts. My husband tried it too, and it worked for him also.

Once you've got one they are a ***** to get rid of. Take Lysine pills daily as a preventative measure. The sun can bring them out so remember sunscreen adn avoids salty and acidic foods as those will only prolong or worsen the cold sore.

Leaving it alone is the best remedy, but if that doesn't suit you...

try putting Zinc on it to speed healing time, use abreva to protect your healthy skin around it from getting cold sores too, and replace your toothbrush so you don't get anymore.

and for the love of Christ... stop picking it... EWW!!!

LOL

Herpes virus is what causes cold sores/fever blisters. People could contract it just by sharing drinks, utensils, shared lip balm, or by kissing anyone who is carrying the herpes virus. They are moderately unpleasant blisters that might show up in close proximity to the mouth, or also the inside of your mouth or nose, on your face, and in other places on the body.

Cold sores can reappear simply because of amplified anxiety, the common cold, fever, cold weather, particular foods, or an excessive amount of sunshine. The area may start to itch, burn, tingle, and then a new sore may surface. The sore may dry up and establish a yellow crusting. Cold sores can stay anywhere from 7 to fourteen days. An individual could attempt to mask the sore by using foundation, however this typically will make the cold sore worse.

To do away with them, an individual may attempt using a cold sore special ointment, make use of lip balm with sun screen, dab peppermint oil, take echinacea, vitamins C as well as E, and absolutely staying away from touching it. By implementing a handful of lifestyle changes, it is possible to hinder cold sores and also inhibit them from coming back.
