I'm a southerner- though I moved to the northeast... a southerner is very friendly, "my home is your home." They are very good hosts and typically make you feel at home by cooking huge meals that'll keep you full for several days. They're very warm people too... I'm sure there's more that I'm leaving out.

"Southern hospitality" is the way the southern treat their guest by serving so much food until you puke (and then serve you more). Being very nice and hospitable to people in general.
