Progressive party is an offshoot of the communist party of America. Why are they not justhonest about who they really are?
Progressive towards what? Socialism? Communism?
If those types of people would ever pick up a history book, they would learn why and HOW that does not work. In the begining, the colonies where forced to operate like a socialistic society. Basically, share the wealth. Everyone was to share thier crop or livestock with the other. There was NO incentives to do better. Capitalism has always prevailed.

Poll tax had nothing to do with race, it had everything to do with only land owners who could afford to vote, voting. (Was to keep the uneducated from voting. LONG before the ending of slavery)
Slavery was abolished by Conservitive Republicans. Not the Democrats. The democrats would still have Jim Crow laws on the books if it wasnt for the republicans having it ousted.
I live in the south, and I know this one very very well...
I like the race card you played. It had no merit, but typical liberalism.

Progressive Party's agenda:
http://pdamerica.org/articles/alliances/progressive-promise.php
Compare it to the Comunist Manifesto, By Karl Marx: Bottom of Chapter 2.

Tell me where they differ, other then how it is painted to the people.

Because if Liberals told us who they really are and what they really believe, they lose every time... ooops, I guess that's happening anyway...
Even though Liberals agree with Communists and Socialists, they know that those labels don't play well with the American People.

Progressive liberals are the limo elitists that stole the liberal tag away from the working class. It seems like an act of sabatoge from the corporate class. I am neither "conservative" nor liberal but I must say that the so called conservatives have hoodwinked middle America into believing that liberalism is such a bad thing. Heck,if it wasn't for liberals like our founding fathers then you would have been arrested for writing your somewhat misguided opinions. By the way, the patriots had a couple of words for conservatives back in those days. Tories and traitors! Republicans were a different breed back in Lincolns day and it's not fair to associate modern day republicans with them.

It's all about political correctness. Sixty years ago, they had no problem calling themselves socialists or communists. Then after the alleged communist witchhunts, they changed their name to liberals. Now that Rush Limbaugh has single handedly exposed liberals for who they really are, they are starting to call themselves progressives. In another 10 or 20 years, progressive will be a bad word like liberal or communist today, and they'll come up with something else to pretend that they are.

I'm fairly conservative myself but I don't find this a fair question. Things aren't that black and white. Not all liberals are socialists or communists. You really see the world in such narrow terms? As far as saying "progressive" as opposed to liberal"-- that's a euphemism. Liberals has gotten some very negative connotations of the last 10-15 years.

It's pretty simple. Conservative = conserve things the way they are or were. (Like conservation, only not with respect to natural resources and the environment.) For example, no new rights for anybody. No new regulation. Progressive = aimed toward making progress from how things used to be to something believed to be better. Giving women the right to vote. Civil rights laws. Tax rates that are progressive rather than regressive.

I do not call myself Progressive nor does that term describe some offshoot of the Communist Party. It has a much broader meaning. If some types of people would ever pick up a dictionary they would learn they cannot reassign meanings to words to suit their political rhetoric.

Hi dittohead,
In continuing with the honesty thing, lets have the neocons call themselves "The corporate whore party".
Hope you enjoy the new Michael Savage book. Might want to read a newspaper sometime.
P.S. It's "their", not "thier".

Because if it were not for us Progressives, then Blacks would still be paying a voters tax to vote so on so forth. We have progressed this nation to what it is, and what it used to stand for.

Why do conservatives call liberal names?
Just give me One solution for fixing this mess your party has made.
Geez - another self-acclaimed authority on everything except a
solution.
You should check - do you have a conscience?
