I think that this, more than any other issue, needs to be addressed by the I.C.A. In a recent match against KHZ, there was actually a fist fight after an incident involving a dirty pitch.

the point of the brooms is to speed up the stone and it is also used to steer the stone.
they spray water on the ice before hand so there are little beads of ice on top of the ice so the stone can glide over it
