Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue - Crystal Gayle
Apparently I use to sing my heart out to this song when I was about 3 years old. Although I don't recall this from my own memories, my mother shared her memory of it with me. The reason this song has the happiest memory for me actually came 25 years later. It was when my mom and I were talking when she started complaining about the song that was playing on her radio. I asked her what the problem was. She shared with me that the song that was playing was one that she never cared for, but because I use to sing it as a little girl she couldn't get herself to change the station or turn it off. My mom and I don't have a very close relationship. We love each other, but have nothing in common. All too often I have felt as if I didn't matter much to her. I have a hard time thinking of examples of times she would sacrifice her wants and desires for the sake of mine. This day in my memory stands out as a moment where she put me ahead of herself.

The Proclaimer's singing "I Wanna Be" from the movie "Benny and Joon."
I was just falling in love with the guy I'm now married to, and this song said it all - it's about Joy, and what loving is all about, and it's really a foot stomper! You can't help but dance when you hear it, even if you're sitting down or driving - it's just too much fun!

"Playground in my mind". Performed by Clint Holmes.
When this old world gets me down
And there's no love to be found
I close my eyes and soon I find
I'm in a playground in my mind
Where the children laugh and the children play
And we sing a song all day
"My name is Michael, I got a nickel
I got a nickel, shiny and new
I'm gonna buy me all kinds of candy
That's what I'm gonna do"
See the little children
Living in a world that I left behind
Happy little children
In the playround in my mind
Oh the wonders that I find
In the playground in my mind
In a world that used to be
Close your eyes and follow me
Where the children laugh and the children play
And we sing a song all day
"My girl is Cindy
When we get married, we're gonna have a baby or two
We're gonna let them visit their grandma
That's what we're gonna do"
"My name is Cindy
When we get married, were gonna have a baby or two
We're gonna let them vist their grandma
That's what we're gonna do"
See the little children
See how they're playing so happy
In the playround in my mind
Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba
La la la la la la la

Westlife- 'Flying Without Wings'. I walked down the isle to it almost five years ago. My husband had a serious accident 2 years later which left him in a wheelchair. I always put this song on when he is feeling low to remind him of my love for him. Soppy I know

Youth Gone Wild- Skid Row
My mom (who passed away in 92) used to sing we are the "Old" Gone Wild and would start headbanging whenever it came on. Whenever I hear that song (which is not very often) always brings a smile to face when I hear it and now I sing her version of it.

"Kiss An Angel Good Morning" by Charlie Pride. It used to play in the mornings on the radio when I was a kid when I was eating breakfast and my Mom and Dad were getting ready to leave for work.
