are u people stupid? Ben wallace is the best defender of all time. he' won defensive player of the year 4 times all ready. aint no telling how many he's going to win it in his lifetime...........

I agree with baseball134. Ron Artest is the best defender in the NBA today.

Ben Wallace. He is the only player to win the NBA Defensive player of the year award four times, and he is arguably one of the best shot blockers ever. He also holds his ground in the post.

Hakeem Olajuwon... He is one of only three players to ever lead the NBA in block shots and rebounds in the same year. He is also the All-Time leader in block shots, and is amongst the top ten in steals All-Time (That's amazing for a 7 footer).
