I used to have a friend like this. Every time he got mad over anything, even if it wasn't worth getting mad over, he'd tell me not to talk to him. Sometimes he just get mad and I wouldn't know why either. I used to chase after him too and try to see what it was that I did wrong. DON'T DO THAT! Its not you, its them. They are, more than likely, very insecure. They do this stuff to see how much you really care. But if your friend is anything like mine was, you will never be doing the right thing. If you try to get the friendship back, they'll get mad and say you're getting on their nerves. If you don't try, they'll say you must not really care about them. Its a lose-lose situation! If this kind of thing has not occured before between the two of you, you could keep trying this time and if it works explain to them that its best if they just talk to you about the problem and not act so immature. If this has occured before, you may just wanna stay away for a while. If this person wants to be your friend, don't you want them to WANT it and know that they're your friend because of that and not b/c you keep bugging them about it? Good luck

i dint know how old you are but if you have a friend that calls you and says that, maybe his not your friend.move on, maybe they are not worthy of being your friend specially if they are not willing to communicate with you about the situation. or perhaps if you feel you have done something to damage your friendship with him or her you might want to consider on appologizing set the record straight cause beleive me what goes around comes aroud ."karma" good luck
