4 sq. ft. is all you need (2'x2'), assuming that as "greens" you allow something like beans or cucumbers (that grow vertically).

The most efficient and minimum sized crop bed to provide food and oxygen to one person would be a transparent coil with 6 liters of water in it, growing a variety of spirulina algae.

Spirulina have been bred for different flavors so the diet would have some variety.

Try using the square foot garden method. Each bed is 4'X4' square. Minimum amount of space and crop after crop. Buy the book or check out square foot gardening on the web. Hope this helps.
