There are several sites that you can use. Here's one I found:
http://www.ussearch.com/consumer/cwf?cid=people&action=browsecatalog&searchtab=people&adID=2180003042&sourceid=&adsource=81&fc=red&TID=0&fc=red&TID=0

You wouldn't go anywhere, nothing in this world is free. Background checks cost money even if you wanted to go the agency in person and ask for the records of the person in question, these law enforcement agencies will charge you for the records. There is somewhat of a round about way however, some law enforcement agencies and prison agencies provide the information of thier current inmates on thier own websites.

I used that website http://www.echeck.pcti-system.com .. the one referenced by that detective guy. I found exactly what I was looking for. So much for Mr Right, or rather Mr Convicted Felon with 2 Liens against him totaling over 30,000$ and an ex-wife I never knew about!! Thank God I found out the truth before it was too late. We were almost engaged!!
