well, seeing as this world is full of evil and sin and all that crazy junk...they had to make bagpipes. something so annoying that it just about drives a person insane with the thought of it. much less the SOUND...ugh. then talk about the men in kilts...wow i can't even begin on that one. bagpipes are bad enough...but then the kilt wearers dancing around playing them? i'm sorry but i'm half irish and i think this is lunacy. i'd laugh. although it IS their tradition. why...i have no clue.

Well I think the Irish did invent then but I also heard that the Chinese had the idea first. I guess they were invented as a form of weapon, before the atom was split!

Nearly every European country has its own version of bagpipes. They were used as a rallying instrument in times of war. In fact, they are still registered as a weapon of war.

Does it matter, any man that can blow bagpipes has lungs and lips good enough for anything you could ask for ,never mind his fingering!!!!!!!Find yourself a piper and learn that it seeps into you ,you will learn to love it

Apparently the inventor was set a challenge......... Would it be possible to invent something which drones on and on more than your Mother in law.............. The answer YES! (although it was only a little bit more annoying than his mother in law}

i am scottish. bagpipes are great. however, i think the irish invented them.

I think they were orgianlly from perisa, but the romans stole them, and ruined them making them sound horrible. And then passed on to scotland or something, so i've read so where.
