Either you belive them or you don't.
Maybe they are telling the truth and you still think it's a lie.
Maybe they are lying- you can't make them tell the truth.
If they are lying and you kow the truth and you want to hear it from them it may not happen, they are protecting themselves from telling you the truth for whatever reason.
If you ABSOLUTELY know what the truth is because you got it from the other "horses mouth" and not a "horse's ***" then tell them what you know if it's so important for you to hear it. They may break down or become angry or leave.

If they truly are lying do you still allow them to effect you this way?
If they are being honest and you still think that's a lie, then I ask you and them the same question...

Say the truth and deal with it either you part or the relationship becomes stronger either way you will both be better off.

Another approach is: What Is The Truth?

If a person has a problem with colors and how their eyes perceive them, they will argue that the sky is green to them. They are not actually 'lying', it is just that their perceived truth is different from yours.

Someone conveying a falsehood to you in some way (speech, writing, actions) will probably be under suspicion by another until it is factually proven. Until evidence proves one way or another, it is very hard to say whether someone is 'telling the truth" or not, at all, I believe.

(Also, as others here have helpfully noted, you cannot force anyone to do anything, really.)

You can't MAKE someone tell the truth no matter what technique you employ. Even lie detectors aren't fool-proof. The bottom line here is, IF the person wants to tell you, they will, if not, they won't. But learn this: YOU CAN'T MAKE ANYONE DO ANYTHING IF THEY DON'T WANT TO!

tell the reality, anybody has a prior, anybody has finished issues in the previous they perhaps are not happy with, you're suitable as long as you're clean now, it particularly is all that concerns. whilst you're seen for the job maximum depts, now require a sic-assessments, they are easily no longer that undesirable, purely pay interest to the questions and answer honetly.. i've got been in protection/Corrections for the previous 8 years, no longer a foul feild. solid success..
