I think Nickelback is one of those bands that kind of lives in the gray areas between different genres. They appeal to my friends who like pop, who like rock, and who like punk. I would say they are a blend of those three and possibly others.

Nickelback is a post-grunge rock band founded in western Canada in 1995. The name derived from the nickel in change Mike Kroeger frequently had to give customers back in his job at a Starbucks coffee shop in which he would, almost trademarkingly say, Here's your Nickel Back.
Nickelbacks's style can be described as hard rock with a grunged up, modern arena rock sound (Many claim there are also a small amount of heavy metal and country influences). The frontman Chad Kroeger is the dominant element; his vocals sustain the songs through verse and hook.
As with many bands, Nickelback's lyrics deal mostly with either acquiring romance, the loss of romance, or the transition between love and hate in relationships. Earlier albums included songs discussing problems such as parental desertion and domestic abuse. They seldom if ever speak metaphorically.

IT'S VERY STUPID UGLY AND DISGUSTING you should try more old rock'n'roll, for your own sake of mind and spiritual rising.
P.S: The singer from AC/DC is like little child running away while someone is fighting him fith deadly fists while he "sing" on stage. It SUCK

NICKLEBACK is rock, but it is also pop. Pop music just means popular music or main stream, they get a lot of air time on the radio, hence they are Pop/Rock
