NO NO NO!!! DO NOT USE COOKING OIL OR BUTTER OR BABY OIL!! It increases your risk of skin cancer as it offers no protection at all against harmful rays.. you must use proper sun tan lotion. Nothing else will do.

Olive and iodine make a good tanning lotion. Just add a few drops of iodine to the oil, mix it well, then apply it to your skin at regular intervals throughout the day. The oil will rub off which is why you'll need to reapply it often.

don't use the sun or tanning beds(not really worth the skin cancer, wrinkles, sun spots, etc) try any self tanner. I like Tan Towel, you just rub them on and within a few hours you have a tan, if you want to be darker you just reapply and you can use the same towel a few times before its done or you can get a spray on tan

I like Hawaiian Tropic dark tanning oil. It smells good. Or baby oil and iodine, I remember my sister used that.

I have used the cocunut conditioner that is made for african american hair. Really works well but dont leave it in the sun or it will become too runny to use.
