the top picks in fantasy football are almost always RBs instead of QBs, and this is generally independent of the scoring system used, because it's really about relative value more than absolute value of a player.
basically the top 2-3 RBs are often more than 10% better than the next tier of 5-8 RBs, and then there's another big drop in quality.
for QBs, the top 2-3 QBs are often only 5% better than the next tier of 8-10 QBs.
thus, the advantage of having one of the top couple of RBs is better than the advantage of the top couple QBs, so it's more important for a first pick to ensure you get a top RB.

yeah you're loopy!!!! continuously take a operating decrease back with the first %.!!!!! counting on your scoring device your selections are Turner, Peterson, or forte no longer in that order. you'll get an fantastically good QB (proper 5) in Rd 3 or a good one in Rd 5 a minimum of. I were given Warner very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days contained in the seventh. particularly cuz you've the first %., do you actually imagine there is going to be high quality operating backs at the same time as it receives decrease back off to you. %. one in each of those 3 above and at the same time as it comes decrease back off take yet another RB and also you'll nonetheless be able to get both Rivers, McNabb, Rodgers, or Ryan contained in the 0.33. I wouldnt even take a QB there to inform you the reality, If Boldin is there i'd bypass with him or Roddy White and then a QB contained in the fourth.

RBs have more opportunities to garner points and less chances to actually lose points
It takes more yardage for a QB to get the same amount of points that a RB needs to pick up. Also, QBs can lose points for fumbles and INTs ... RBs can lose points just by fumbling ... unless they pull the RB becomes a QB shift, but that is extremely rare to see

RB, definately. The guy who said there are more quality RB's than QB's is wrong. There is a big dropoff in points between the top tier RB's and the next best. The point dropoff at the QB position is much less. In fantasy football, it's not about which player scores the most points, it's about the player who outscores the other players at his position by the most points. With the big dropoff in fantasy points between the top tier and next best RB's, this is huge.

Depends on where you pick, and who is left...if you're at the top, have to go with a RB....if you're in the middle, and the top 5 RB's are gone, you may want to look at someone like payton for your QB

Without question RB is the most important postion in FF. I actually believe that if you are in a league that has IDP's, that LB is the 2nd best position, but if you are not, then QB is the 2nd best position. Unless you have Carson Palmer, or Peyton Manning as a QB.

Depends. There are more quality RB's than there are QB's...
..So take a premire QB first then worry about a RB with your second pick :)

It depends on what the team needs. Texans had a good QB (D. Carr), so they didn't really need one. They just need to protect him from getting sacked. They were better taking a RB.
Dave M
"Not to mention the top 10 are all runningbacks."
Actually, V. Young was one of the top prospects (taken #3 by the Oilers). He was a quarter back.

Depends on scoring. Some leagues a PASSING TD is only 3pts. Some its 6. Some its 6 and a bonus if its over 50 yds. Read the fine print. That can determine your draft strategy.
