In a way, you can. Quite aside from the whole acid/alkaline concept, there is the fact that we can now determine the gender of a fetus while it is not legally too late to abort. So if a person was determined to choose, they could take that drastic measure. But it's a bad idea, because I think there would be way too many boys and not enough girls, at least in some countries, if the practice became common. Many cultures, even today, place greater value on boy babies. Many of them used to destroy girl babies if they were thought to be superfluous. And in fact, modern America may now be sufficiently feminist-ridden that there would be too many girls in our country if choosing gender were easy!

Let's let Mother Nature decide, the way she always has. Most of the time parents are glad for a healthy baby, and don't care more than a second or two whether it's the gender they hoped for or not.

Gender is decided by the male. If your father has more boys than girls, check out what his father had. It will almost always be the same effect. By the third generation it usually changes the other way around. This is probably nature's work, so that the population is more balanced. Men unbalance it with wars.

Either way it is still fate. fate that they would choose that certain gender, they aren't really messing up the natural path of life. Unless you don't believe in fate. But still...things happen for a reason. I mean...boy or a girl, why would they care enough to actually not accept what they are given?

NO I DON'T, 'CAUSE IT SHOULD ALWAYS BE IN GOD'S HANDS, AS IT ALWAYS HAS! I MEAN, WHAT IF THE FIRST BABY TO BE BORN THAT HAD THEIR GENDER DECIDED FOR THEM, WAS MEANT TO BE THE OPPOSITE GENDER?

AND WHAT IF THE BABY BORN ENDED UP BEING A BOY IN STEAD OF THE GIRL IT WAS MEANT TO BE, AND THEN THE BABY GREW UP TO BECOME OUR NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE U.S.? THEN WE WOULD TOTALLY THEN BE DENIED ANOTHER CHANCE TO GET TO ELECT A FEMALE PRESIDENT, MOST LIKELY ABLE TO DO A BETTER JOB THAN HER MALE OPPONENT?

China already does... they just put the girl in a basket on the water and send her out to sea.... it's disgusting... girls in China have no value.

People who aren't gorgeous have no value in America.... same thing, just a new way of doing it. Actually worse - goes along with our fast food, something for nothing, self indulgent attitudes...

Interesting, Hitler gone, but we may still get some sort of "Nazi" race yet - maybe not blonde and blue eyes - but you can't deny the similarities.

No, because then it would throw off nature and the balance of male to female ratio which is vital to sustaining the human race for the future.

No, they should not. We'll see how well that works out in China in a while; they kill girl babies and soon the population will be skewed and there won't be enough females.

NO WAY! That would upset the entire balance of the human population!

I think that would totally rock if we had a say in what our baby would be like.

as long as the baby is healthy it shouldn't matter what their gender is.
