Here's the scoop:
the old-style toothpaste used to be chalky and had drying properties.
New brands don't work anymore, because the ingredients have changed.
Zit remedies:
if you can find it, the very best thing ever is a zinc paste - some pharmacies still have it.
You can make a paste out of finely ground oatmeal, hydrogen peroxide and cortisone - triple whammy - oatmeal will draw impurities out, hydrogen peroxide kill bacteria and dry it out and cortisone soothes the irritation and handles the redness.
And if you don't want to mess around with the gunk, just get anything over the counter - Oxy pimple cream, Clean & Clear or such.

You might try triple antibiotic lotion. It's a little like Vaseline, but really works against infection. Home remedies may work differently for different people. Use hot water towel to improve circulation to the affected areas, which promotes natural healing. Don't do anything drastic because it may spread the germs to other pores. Germs spread topically and subcutaneously (under the skin). If you press a zit the pressure may push to other pores under the skin layers. Ever have a double zit.?

I think it has to be the white pasty kind....and it should be mint. But a better solution is Proactive - clears em up super quick!
