Many performers have stage fright. Barbara Streisand has it really very badly. She often vomits just before going on for a show and has talked about this in several articles. She had some concerts that she cancelled or could not actually bring herself to go on stage and do. It is part of the reason she retired from public concerts so early in life. She is finally comming back to the stage soon. You just learn to cope. Some are able to turn it around and some are not. There is a price for everything. It takes real courage to perform in front of others and lots of practice. So no, it's not wierd at all....it's just human nature.

No, its not weird. I'm not a perfroming singer or anything, but I am apart of my drama club at my high school and b4 I got to the high school, I was in a talent show at my Junior High school and yes I got on stage and froze up but I learned from it and now when I'm in a play or on stage or in front of a lot of people, I don't worry about it because I have learned from my mistake of wondering about what everyone else thinks. Hope you get over your stage fright! :)

Actually this is an issue with most artist today. The obstacle you must overcome is yourself. I am an artist myself, and the first time I started rapping in front of people it was terrifying. But as the song continued and I saw people looking at me like I was wonderful, all the fright subsided.

Start off singing with a choir. Being onstage with a group is not nearly as scary as going solo. Later you can join a smaller group, like a quartet or octet, or something. After that, you will probably have it licked. That is what I did. Now I still get stage fright sometimes, but I just close my eyes and imagine I am just singing to myself...and don't forget to breathe!!!!! Good breath support helps to take that nervous warble out of your voice...and PRO-JECT!

No actually it isn't. I love to sing. I sing all the time. But I can't help but to sing with my eyes closed. I get distracted and can't fall into the song. To get over your fear, if you know you can sing, just fall into the music. Listen to every sound in the music. Listen to the drums the guitar, every little accent and chord change and just relax. Then after you feel the vibe of the song let your voice explode. The first 5 notes are very important after that you should be fine. Just practice around friends first then in a public place like a mall or Wal-mart or something. Just bust out singing if people look at you funny, to hell with them. Just let yourself be heard. Take care and keep letting that voice be heard. That's the only way you will get a record deal.

When I was younger I used to do a lot of singing in church and some one once told me that if you look over the tops of peoples heads you would not be so frightened and it worked very well for me. In my case though i knew all the congregation. so I don't know if that would work for you. but just give it a try. maybe start with a smaller group and work your way to the top. I know that you can do it. God will give you the strenghth to get through it .If that is what you are meant to be. It would be a waste of talent if you do not persue your dreams.God Bless you.

A lot of singers, comics, and stage actors throw up every single time just before they go on stage.
