That's a good question. I think it's because some people are just plain morons and don't know how to ask anything other than stupid questions. They don't have anything better to do and want to get a reaction out of other people by making them think that they have to give them a stupid or smartalec answer. I don't answer the stupid questions. It's just a waste of time.
By the way, who is Nicholas Shea? I think you meant Nick Lachey(pronounced la shay).

but i like important questions too
