She's 18. He's 47. They're the best of friends. Truly. She loves him, he loves her (as all friends should). She likes him more than a friend. He knows it. They make out- nothing more. He says he likes her BUT he has a girl friend, who he also likes. It's a weird situtation. I know. He goes out with both of them (not at the same time- in fact the two girls have never met) . What on earth does that make them? Lovers?- i don't think so. Let me know.

All very interesting. Let me add more. He's her mentor. They're both artists, same interests. Love each others company. Tell each other everything. Both accepting of one another. Now forget the ages. Does that change anything?

Well, if he is not telling his girlfriend about this younger woman, then I suppose it makes him a cheater, if if all they do is kiss... in fact, the relationship sounds very intimate, and in some ways that's cheating more than having a one night stand!
If both women know about the other woman and are ok with it, then, fine! Though the younger woman may get tired of pursuing him eventually if he is not willing to take the relationship any further.

Wrong, a 47 year old shouldn't even be leading the poor girl on and is messed up if he has a girlfriend but still teases a young girl. That makes her a poor naive girl and him an aging playboy. There really isn't a word that I can think of for the relationship. Friends with limited benefits..?

I'm sorry to say this but I think the guy is immature. He seeks the fulfillment of her girl's shortcoming to the teen. I know, it may be love for her coz she's what she have been dreaming of and I can't blame her for that. But I belive that the guy is old enough to know what is right and wrong. And I think that he was to choose coz whether he likes it or not one should be with him and one will get hurt.
I don't think they are lovers.
Nor they best friends.
They use each other for their benefit so I would call them users.

i would say these ladies are birthday and christmas presents..all wrapped up and tied with a bow. the only person really getting something out of this is the 47 yr old man...old enough to be the girls dad...or grandpa these days. he is taking it slow.. he will get around to using both of you. how sad if you let it happen and this isnt the way friends treat friends.

for a 47 year old to want a 18 year old he has BIg issues. If he has a girlfriend then why is she messing with him??? OHH yeah she is 18 and niave...that is why he will never be serious with her cuz he knows she is immature cuz she knows he has a girl and don;t care....

sounds like he is a pervert and she is being taken advantage of. It also sounds like his girlfriend needs to know what is going on. This guy is trouble and no friend of hers- this is not love - it is predator behavior and she should run and not look back.
