This guy I am seeing says he is only still married because he has filed for bancruptcy. Says she lives in her own room, and his teenage sons know he goes out with me and seem fine with it I guess. Why are they still living in the same house? Do you have to stay married while going through a chapter 13 bancruptcy?

they might have to still be married but they don't have to live together. he should get a small apartment will waiting for the divorce.

your not an idiot but you can become one...... firstable dont believe his bullshit ok nobody is obligated to stay with a person they dont love or have any relation with not these days.... in a case of wht he is talking about if he is really separating from his wife a lawyer would take care of his financial stat ok people that is going through divorces are not suppose to be living together that is why they getting a divorce. and bankarupsy is not a reason to be still married to somebody....if he had money then is something else but because he is broke he has to be married??? i dont get it.maybe he is the idiot... wht you have to do is talk to a lawyer find one of those lawyers that are charge you for like a visit and ask him the questions you need answered. that would be for your own good. to me it sound like poo-poo.good luck.

I really don't think the point is weather or not he is still living with her. The point is that he is still married to her. If they are still married anything can happen. You could end of getting seriously hurt. Right now he will say whatever he thinks that you want to hear. Don't be involved with him until he is divorced.

Time to tell him to give you a call when he gets his divorce. You can be called into court into the middle of a messy divorce case as a witness and mistress if you don't. While it's nice (I guess) that his son doesn't care, it has no bearing.
